Marc Stamminger is the chair of visual computing at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. After his PhD on "Finite Element Methods for Global Illumination" in 1999 he was a PostDoc at MPI Informatics in Saarbrücken and at INRIA Sophia-Antipolis, and a lecturer at Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar, before he came to Erlangen as a professor in 2002. His research covers various areas of visual computing, such as real-time rendering, visualization, 3d reconstruction, object tracking, video manipulation, and virtual and augmented reality. In these areas, he has published about 200 papers in leading journals and conference proceedings. He was co-chair of the program committee of Eurographics 2009 and the Eurographics Symposium on Rendering in 2010, as well as the conference "Vision, Modelling, and Visualization" in 2005 and 2016, and part of the program committee of all major computer graphics conferences, such as Siggraph, Siggraph Asia, Eurographics, ACM I3D, or ACM High Performance Computing. Marc Stamminger is part of the Eurographics Executive Committee and serves currently as the Eurographics Professional Board chair.
