Heinrich Mueller is a professor of computer science at the University of Dortmund, Germany. His research interests include development of efficient data structures, algorithms and software in scientific visualization, rendering, computer animation, computer aided geometric design, and computer vision. He has authored and co-authored four books and more than 100 research papers in journals and proceedings, and is co-editor of five collections in these fields. He is on the editorial board of four international journals and was member ot the programme committees of numerous international workshops and conferences. Mueller received diplomas in computer science and mathematics in 1978, followed by a Ph.D. in computer science in 1981, all from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and the habilitation degree from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1987 with a thesis on efficient data structures, algorithms, and machines for image synthesis by raytracing. In 1988, he became an associate professor at the University of Freiburg, and in 1992 a professor of computer graphics at the University of Dortmund. Mueller actively promotes computer graphics in the German association of computer science (GI). He joined the Eurographics Association in 1988 and was a member of diverse Eurographics program committees. He is currently chairman of the Workshop and Working Groups board of Eurographics. In 2002 he became a fellow of Eurographics.
