Hi! I am Renata and I am Assistant Professor in Medical Visualization and Visual Analytics at the Research Unit of Computer Graphics of the Institute of Visual Computing & Human-Centered Technology, at TU Wien, Austria. I am also the Curriculum Coordinator for the Bachelor in Informatics (Specialization Digital Health) and the Master in Medical Informatics at TU Wien. I am a holder of the Dirk Bartz Prize for Visual Computing in Medicine (1st Place) at Eurographics 2017 and the Best PhD Award 2018 of the EuroVis Awards Programme. In 2022, I was awarded the EuroVis Young Researceher Award. I am currently on the Steering Committee of EG VCBM, GI-VCBM, and GI-Vis, and a Eurographics Junior Fellow. I am also Associate Editor for Computer & Graphics and a member of EASAC (European Academies’ Science Advisory Council), a collaborative body that provides independent, evidence-based scientific advice to policymakers in Europe—specifically in the area “AI in Healthcare”. My research focus is on the interface between Visual Analytics, Image Processing, and Machine Learning, with a strong focus on medical applications—in particular, cancer radiotherapy. My specific domains of expertise are Comparative Visual Analytics and Uncertainty Visualization. I am also particularly enthusiastic about Data Physicalization and its application to Anatomical Edutainment. For more information please check out my personal website: https://renataraidou.com/
